【报告摘要】
This study examines the environmental impact of hedge fund activism. The empirical analysis shows that firms targeted by hedge fund activism reduce the emissions of toxic chemicals. In particular, target firms close heavy polluting plants and invest in green pollution-reduction technologies to reduce toxic emissions. Furthermore, target firms with the larger decreases in toxic chemical emissions experience higher stock returns after activism.
【报告人简介】
赵大旋，中国人民大学商学院副教授，2005年获南京大学理学学士学位，2008年获南京大学经济学硕士学位，2013年获新加坡国立大学房地产系博士学位，此后在新加坡国立大学房地产研究中心、新加坡科技局从事博士后研究工作，2015年起在中国人民大学商学院财务与金融系任教。他的主要研究兴趣为房地产、家庭金融、城市经济学、环境经济学和中国经济。他的论文发表于American Economic Journal: Economic Policy、Regional Science and Urban Economics、Annuals of Regional Science、Real Estate Economics、Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics等国际期刊。
